BIG Breaks Strategy

The overall aim of the BIG Breaks campaign is to double the number of disabled children receiving short breaks to 20,000 by 2012 and to improve the services disabled children and their families receive. This would double the number of children benefiting from breaks in the UK. Our BIG Breaks strategy is based on widespread consultation and is based on the findings of our UK survey (2007). It shows the activities that would make a real difference to disabled children and the care they receive. It also shows how we aim to increase the numbers of carers coming forward and how we want to support short break carers in their role.

BIG Breaks Campaign and BIG Breaks Strategy
We are actively fundraising to carry out the activities in our BIG Breaks Strategy (2007-2012) and hope to launch the BIG Breaks carer recruitment campaign in 2008. Read about the campaign and our plans to increase and improve short break provision in the UK by clicking the links below.
